Latin Name:
Amsonia hubrechtii

Common Name:
Arkansas Blue Star Willow

Description:
Perennial Flower ~ Sun to Part Shade ~ 2 - 3' ~ spring ~ steel blue flowers fade to almost white ~ feathery foliage ~ bright yellow fall foliage ~ ATTRACTS BUTTERFLIES ~ medium moisture requirements ~ a low maintenance native plant

Optimal Care:
Plants usually require no special care.  If the location is shady or the soil too rich, plants may flop after flowering.  If this happens, shear back by a third to a half and shape after flowering is complete.  Cutting back after flowering will also prevent self-seeding.  Cut to the ground in the Spring.
