Why Plant in the Fall?

o   Cooler air temperature does not stress the plants.

o   Ground temperatures stay warm well into the fall and help promote root growth until temperature drops below 40 degrees.

o   More energy can be spent on root development.

o   There is usually more moisture available in fall so less watering is required.

o   Fall planting is less expensive as most nurseries have sales.

o   Fall planting jump starts the garden.  You actually gain an entire season!
